Third Grade Reading Proficiency

This indicator helps us to understand reading proficiency as it gauges the success of the region's elementary school systems in attaining this goal of comprehension and understanding. Third grade is a critical year for students to master reading comprehension, as educational officials have said that until then, young students are purely learning to read, not reading to learn. Improving the third grade reading proficiency will enable future success in education for the region's youth
